We turnaround teams in trouble. Teams that:

  • Are not achieving results
  • Are not getting along
  • Demonstrate mistrust in team members
  • Have unclear direction and purpose

These symptoms are just the tip of the iceberg. White water rafting and ropes courses are fun, but have little impact on these challenges. That's why we don't use them in our team development projects. We help teams to focus their energy on clarity and commitment to team goals, roles and processes. If your team needs a focused and frank approach to identify and address underlying issues that are blocking the team's effectiveness, contact Brenda Fannon at The Development Group.

Our approach is to tailor each Team Development session to the work group and its specific challenges. Typically we:

  • Meet with key sponsors to identify broad issues and key elements of organizational culture.
  • Conduct confidential interviews with all team members.
  • Identify themes, patterns and concerns from the interviews.
  • Review themes and possible interventions with the team leader.
  • Conduct a team meeting to communicate themes and address and resolve specific problems and issues.
  • Design an intervention to address the team's problem.
  • Conduct a follow up session in 6-8 weeks to review progress.
